Martin is another one of Pyrotex’s highly experienced crew members, holding over 25 years of experience in the firework industry. With his extensive knowledge in all aspects of the business, he is a valued crew member.
You can always count on Martin to go the extra mile to help in the fusing shed or last-minute displays. He is the happiest when he is around fireworks, you could say he lives and breathes pyrotechnics.
Martin has been part of Pyrotex for over 9 years, where he started off working on small displays, building up to the biggest and best international competitions.
Q&A With Martin
How did you get into fireworks?
Since I lit my first firework at the age of 4 the spark was lit inside me and after doing many garden displays that grew to professional size, I then got offered a job with another pyrotechnics company as an operator.
Do you have a day job outside of fireworks? If so what is your job?
I currently run my own pyrotechnics business
What is the strangest thing you have seen or had to do on a display?
Craziest moment was in July 2007, working on a show when the firing site took a direct lightning strike
What is your favourite firework experience up to date?
I would say my first professional design for a show, that was for the Queens Golden Jubilee. i have also been lucky enough to work with Pirotechnia Caballer on a Valencian Mascleta, Pyrotex Firewox on there international competition show in Poland and finally set a new World Record with Grucci Fireworks.
How would you describe working for Pyrotex?
Heavenly and like walking on air, every day should be a Pyrotex day
What are your key strengths when out on site?
Getting the job done safely and professionally and on time. The true on site strengths are a team effort where we all bounce positively off each other no matter what challenges are thrown at us.
