Tom Wardlow
Display Manager
Tom is living the dream! Since his early teenage years, he has always wanted to be involved with firework displays. Back in 2016 Tom saw an advert to do just that, he contacted Pyrotex and before he knew it, he was taking part in his first professional firework display.
Tom has learned a lot over the past 5 years and moved up through the ranks becoming a lead firer for large pyromusical firework displays. More recently, he has become part of the international team at Pyrotex competing in Vietnam, Courchevel, and St Tropez.
Back in 2020, Tom was offered a full-time job at Pyrotex helping with the running of the business and managing the retail firework website. It is safe to say that he really is in his dream job.
Q&A With Tom
Went over to Canada to meet my family and they are involved with the stunts and special effects in films. Since my early teenage years I’ve always found fireworks fascinating and thought I’d love to do something like that, so I contacted Pyrotex Fireworx when I got home and the rest is history.
I’m luckily enough to work for Pyrotex full time, on my days off I love been a dad and spending it with the kids.
Derby Quad, inflatable headless horse! Do I need to say any more!
My first international display at Courchevel is definitely one I’ll always remember, but it’s got to be Vietnam and my first time in Asia!
Hard work at times, but all of the crew are brilliant, like one big happy family.
I like to think, no matter how tough a show is or the weather conditions, I keep on going and make sure the job is done. I can adapt to any role or help out anywhere if needed.
